A Minute with Blake Hall
Welcome to 'A Minute With' where we ask the players of Ongar CC some questions about their time at Love Lane.
Also known as; Aus, Budd
How long have you played for Ongar?
- My first game was on the 26th of April 2008 at picturesque Basildon.
I walked out to bat with the score 9/36. Good start.

What’s the best thing about playing for Ongar?
- I have enjoyed playing in a different country with different conditions. The best thing about playing cricket in general is the beers after the game.

Who do you normally travel with to away games?
- I go with Stick and also Jo if she comes. Most weeks we also collect the priceless Geoff Page.
Do you have any superstitions?
- When I put my shoes and pads on I always start with the left side first. I have no idea why I do this.
Who is your favourite cricketer of all time?
- To watch batting is Adam Gilchrist and bowling is Shane Warne.
- To play with is Nick Elliott from Abridge
What really annoys you?
- People who are really loud, talk too much and think they have the answers to questions they weren't even asked.
What is the funniest thing you have seen on a cricket field?
- It would have to be David Coles chasing the ball to the boundary at Abridge, at top speed and not being able to slow down in time as he stumbled through the front door of the pavilion and ended up lying face down on the floor.
When he returned to the field Richard Padfield was kind enough to remind him to please take his spikes off before he enters the clubhouse!
Who is the funniest person at the club/
- Nobbler offers great comedy when he is about on a Saturday.
- On a Sunday it has to be Mario Picceri.

- David Lloyd, for his excellent commentating skills. 'Start the car!

- Enjoying life with friends doing whatever I wanted.
After staggering out of the pub, would your preference be a kebab, Indian or Chinese?
- Have to go with a kebab. It is the easiest to eat when your motor skills are severely impaired.

If you could invite five people in the world to dinner (living or dead), who would they be?
- Apart from the obvious friends and family I would go with - Steve Waugh, Anthony Hopkins, Superman, Gordon Ramsay and Jerry Seinfeld.
